Purchase of Library Materials
Non-Japanese Library Grants are given to Libraries outside Japan. Books
and other research materials are considered essential to the
advancement of knowledge, so a high priority is given to research
libraries with professional staff which are accessible to a large
number of scholars.
For libraries outside Japan:
• Purchase of basic research materials (excluding subscriptions to
periodicals) will ordinarily not exceed $5,000 and will not be awarded to the same library in two successive years.
• Applicants must provide lists and prices of intended acquisitions.
Applications must be completed and postmarked by December 31:
Letters are mailed out announcing grant awards by April 15.
May 1 is the earliest date grant funds are available.
Applications, including the original and four copies, must be
postmarked and mailed to the Kyoto center on or before December 31.
See contact for address.
Applicants are encouraged to send submissions by regular postal delivery.
