Applications for the 2018-2019 Library Grant Program will be accepted with an application postmark deadline of December 31, 2017.

Purchase of Library Materials
Non-Japanese Library Grants are given to Libraries outside Japan. Books and other research materials are considered essential to the advancement of knowledge, so a high priority is given to research libraries with professional staff which are accessible to a large number of scholars.

General Instructions
For libraries outside Japan:
•    Purchase of basic research materials (excluding subscriptions to
     periodicals) will ordinarily not exceed $5,000 and will not be awarded to the same library in two successive years.
•    Applicants must provide lists and prices of intended acquisitions.

Timeline
Applications must be completed and postmarked by December 31:
Letters are mailed out announcing grant awards by April 15.
May 1 is the earliest date grant funds are available.

Mailing Instructions
Applications, including the original and four copies, must be postmarked and mailed to the Kyoto center on or before December 31.
